I have been using GoodReader on my iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch to read PDFs. GoodReader also allows me to mark and save the document, just as if I were reading the PDF and highlighting important passages.
With access to a few Android devices (namely the hijacked one used on Kindle Fire), I was hoping to be able to buy and install GoodReader for Android. Amazon Appstore and Google Play Store (which does not officially support Amazon Kindle devices) both do not carry Good Reader.
A quick search revealed why GoodReader is not supported on Android.
Apparently the smoothless and quickness of GoodReader relies on Apple specific hardware acceleration, as well as iOS API that is not duplicated readily on Android.
So the next time you use an application on the Android that was "ported" from iOS, thank the application writer!
